Pool Inspections in the Hills District

The Hills District has the largest number of backyard pools of any region we service — around 26,000, with Castle Hill alone home to close to 3,900. Big family homes across Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Bella Vista and Cherrybrook make pools a feature of the area.

Why it matters

Why Hills District pools need a compliance check.

The Hills District has the largest number of backyard pools of any region we service — around 26,000, with Castle Hill alone home to close to 3,900. Big family homes across Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Bella Vista and Cherrybrook make pools a feature of the area.

Every residential pool in the Hills must meet the NSW Swimming Pools Act 1992 and AS 1926.1-2012 barrier standard, and a current compliance certificate is needed before selling or leasing. PoolPro Inspectors is a registered private certifier covering the whole Hills District.

FAQ

Hills District pool inspection FAQs.

Which council covers Hills District?

Hills District is administered by The Hills Shire Council. We inspect to the same NSW standard (Swimming Pools Act 1992 & AS 1926.1-2012) regardless of council, so the process is identical across the region.

How long does a pool inspection take?

Most inspections take 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size and layout of your pool barrier.

How much does it cost?

A flat $250 + GST for a Hills District pool barrier inspection and compliance certificate. You can book and pay online.

Do I need a certificate to sell or lease my property?

Yes. Under the Swimming Pools Act 1992 a valid certificate of compliance (or non-compliance) must be attached to a contract of sale or provided before a lease begins. See our compliance guide for detail.

What if my pool doesn't pass?

You receive a written list of exactly what needs rectifying and a certificate of non-compliance. You then have time to fix the issues and book a re-inspection.
